Exploring local weather conditions and sources of renewable energy
Case Study : Broadfields School
Broadfields School wanted a fun and interactive way to teach about weather and the environment, as well as exploring their school’s potential for renewable energy production.
Installation of the Logic Energy Renewable Energy Demonstration kit was simple and quick. A stand-alone and completely wireless system, the kit was ideal for studying local conditions and weather forecasting. More importantly, by connecting it to the Logic Energy online web-portal this has become an interactive tool for the classroom to show renewable energy potential from their own school site.
The kit comes with all sensors to measure wind speed and wind direction, rainfall and temperature and Broadfields School also connect humidity and solar radiation sensors. The interactive displays, which the children use to access the information received from the sensors via PCs, bring this information to life and clearly link their real environmental conditions to the energy producing potential of the school.
